About the Role

At Haleon were a world-leading consumer health company bringing together deep human understanding and trusted science to improve everyday health.

As an OTC Product Development Intern youll join one of our R&D teams supporting some of Haleons well-known over-the-counter consumer health products. Youll gain hands-on experience in the product development process working alongside experienced scientists on a defined project while learning how ideas are transformed into products that meet consumers needs.

This is a great opportunity for students who are curious enjoy hands-on science and want to experience what a career in consumer healthcare R&D looks like.

What Youll Do

• Support a defined product development project alongside scientists within our OTC R&D organization.
• Conduct hands-on laboratory experiments and assist with formulation and product development activities.
• Analyze experimental data and evaluate materials and products throughout different stages of development.
• Maintain clear and accurate laboratory documentation and notebooks.
• Learn and apply safe laboratory practices while gaining exposure to a professional R&D environment.
• Partner with a technical mentor and other scientists to troubleshoot challenges ask questions and identify next steps.
• Support scientific research and other activities that contribute to ongoing product development projects.
• Summarize and communicate your work findings and learnings through project updates and a final presentation.

Essential Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Chemistry Chemical Engineering Pharmaceutical Sciences Food Science Pharmacy or another related science or engineering discipline .
• Some laboratory experience gained through coursework undergraduate research previous internships or other hands-on scientific experience.
• Curious motivated to learn and comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback.
• Strong attention to detail and an interest in hands-on scientific problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous hands-on laboratory or undergraduate research experience.
• Experience maintaining an accurate laboratory notebook or scientific documentation.
• Basic understanding of scientific principles experimental design and data analysis.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and PPE.
• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn from challenges and feedback.

Eligibility and Program Requirements:

• This internship requires working at the designated location. Candidates requiring relocation are responsible for arranging and funding their own housing transportation and relocation needs.

• Candidate must be able to work full-time (40 hours/ week) Monday-Friday 8am-5pm for 12 weeks.

• Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship in the future. Work authorization documentation will be required during the application process.

• The position is based in Richmond requiring an in-office presence of 4-5 days per week

Expected start date: June 2027

Compensation for this internship is based on academic standing and degree program:

• Freshman: $20.00/hour

• Sophomore: $22.50/hour

• Junior: $24.50/hour

• Senior: $26.00/hour

• Masters Student (Non-Engineering): $28.00/hour

• Masters Student (Engineering): $30.00/hour
