Logistics Analyst

Insight Global has a large manufacturing client seeking a Logistics Analyst to support its logistics and supply chain operations. This role will play a key part in managing transportation data, analyzing carrier performance, and supporting procurement initiatives across rail, road, and marine transportation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the freight/transportation industry and the ability to turn data into actionable insights that improve cost efficiency and service levels. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with lane optimization and freight costing (determining most economical carrier to service each lane based on cost and service components)
- Running freight bids
- Running medium scale RFPs
- Analyze transportation rate tables and evaluate cost structures across carriers
- Support freight sourcing initiatives, including bid evaluations and pricing comparisons
- Assist in maintaining transportation management system (TMS) and ERP data (SAP TM rate tables, master data)
- Provide data-driven recommendations on logistics strategies, cost savings opportunities, and vendor selection
- Partner closely with procurement and supply chain leadership to support ongoing initiatives
- Assist in evaluating proposals from carriers and brokers and support negotiation strategies
- Conduct ad hoc analysis on freight market trends and transportation alternatives

- Freight/transportation industry background
- Advanced skills within Microsoft Excel
- Strong data management skills
- Experience sourcing transportation solutions
- Experience running freight bids and developing analytical KPIs to track/monitor performance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- SAP/ECC/PowerBI/Alteryx skills
