Job Title: Press Brake Operator Job Description
This role involves the daily operation of press brake machinery to cut and fabricate parts for a wide variety of customers. The facility promotes a no-micromanagement culture, allowing you to take ownership of your work while collaborating with a supportive team. Shift options include a second shift schedule of four 10-hour days (for example, 1:30 p.m.-12:00 a.m. or 3:30 p.m.-2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday) and a weekend shift of three 12-hour days (5:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday), where you work 36 hours and receive pay for 40. The overall atmosphere is family-oriented, with a strong emphasis on trust, autonomy, and professional growth.

Responsibilities
- Operate press brake machinery on a daily basis to cut and fabricate metal parts according to specifications and customer requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate dimensions, tolerances, and part configurations.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify part quality and maintain tight tolerances.
- Run a variety of press brake machines and, where applicable, perform machine setup and basic adjustments.
- Work with multiple brands of brake press equipment, including Diamond, Triumph, Toyoke, and similar machines.
- Participate in daily cross-training on new machines to provide coverage when team members move between workstations.
- Assist with or learn setup and programming tasks for brake presses and related equipment as needed.
- Operate additional shop machinery such as turret presses, punch presses, CNC equipment, and laser or press operations when required.
- Collaborate closely with team members, communicate clearly on job requirements, and support a positive, team-oriented environment.
- Maintain a consistent and reliable work history by demonstrating strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Follow all safety procedures, keep work areas clean and organized, and support continuous improvement in shop processes.
- 1-2 years of experience as a basic operator on turret, brake, or laser equipment.
- Hands-on experience operating press brake machinery in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to run a variety of press brake machines and perform basic setup and operation.
- Solid and consistent work history demonstrating reliability and long-term experience in similar roles.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated good work ethic, including dependability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Willingness and ability to cross-train on new machines and processes.
- Experience with brands of brake press such as Diamond, Triumph, and Toyoke.
- Interest in learning different machinery and moving between various roles within the shop.
- Desire to develop setup and programming skills for brake presses and related equipment.
- Exposure to or experience with Bystronic and Accurpress machinery.
- Experience operating punch presses, CNC machines, and other press operations.
- Comfort working on second shift or weekend shift schedules.
- Ability to perform dimensional checks and quality inspections using measuring instruments.
