Our teams develop and release over 100 new products a year and continue to grow our vast patent portfolio.Position Overview:We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop mechanical design concepts from prototype to production release for electronics enclosures and assemblies. The engineer will design sheet metal parts, stampings, extrusions, some injection molded plastics and machined parts used in electronic assemblies. A proven track record of design creativity, problem solving skills, and an inherent willingness to take the initiative in solving design challenges is key. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is imperative. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be willing and able to work well with others.Responsibilities:Mechanical design and development of components, assemblies, and enclosures for electronic products, ensuring performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability objectives are achieved.Develop complex mechanical designs for electronic equipment using 3D CAD modeling and generating 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.Create and maintain engineering documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs), to support prototyping, product validation, design verification, and production release.Perform thermal analysis using (CFD) simulation tools to evaluate, optimize, and validate product thermal performance and cooling solutions.Interface with other engineering departments and purchasing to coordinate projects to ensure technical requirements, schedules and cost targets are met.Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure components and assemblies meet engineering specifications, quality requirements, and performance standards throughout fabrication, assembly, and testing.Identify and resolve complex mechanical design challenges through analytical thinking, creativity, and hands-on problem-solving.?Qualified Candidates Will Have:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.Minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical design experience, or a master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.Product design experience of business, commercial or consumer electronic products.Experience with thermal analysis and CFD simulation tools is preferred.Strong knowledge of mechanical fabrication and manufacturing processes, including machining, casting, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.Proficient with standard engineering and productivity software tools.Salary range: $95,000 to $110,000. Pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
