Unit Notes
- # of beds: 34- Ratios: 4-5 patients per RNU. Up to 6 patients depending on needs/call-ins/ extreme situations.
- Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Gen med neuro/ortho/surgical patients
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: At least 1 year experience
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No- titrate drips go to stepdown unit
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: 3 primary charge nurses for day and noc shift
- RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Respiratory Therapy handles all RT equipment.
- Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?: Tele unit; we have centralized tele in house that monitors and reads strips.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts, day and night positions, 7a-7p
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation; every 3rd holiday
- Is there a call or standby requirement?: No call
- Floating Requirements: On occasion
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color scrubs VivPost
