Chronicle of Higher Education
Responsibilities and Qualifications Westminster College’s School of Music is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music to begin August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach courses in music education, studio woodwinds or brass, and woodwind or brass pedagogy. In addition, the successful candidate must have public school teaching experience, ideally at least 3 to 5 years. Experience in jazz, the ability to direct the jazz ensemble, and the ability to teach courses in jazz history would be especially helpful. Other courses in music or in the College’s general education curriculum may be assigned to fill out the faculty member’s teaching load. Similar to all music faculty, the successful candidate will be expected to recruit music majors, particularly music education majors, for the private lesson studios, the School of Music, and the College. Applicants should have a completed doctorate in music consistent with the above workload (preferred), but we will consider candidates who have completed all doctoral coursework and are ABD. Westminster College is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
