Job DescriptionContingent - Day Shift - Weekday & Rotating Weekends at Providence Rochester
Day Shift-7:00a-3:30p (some flexibility)- covering Acute Care, IPR & Outpatient; covering for vacations, holidays & high volume + weekend on-call, once every 4-6 weeks. Will be required to work at least 1 on call shift on Saturday every 4 to 6 weeks.
Prefer at least 3 years' experience in hospital setting. Must be out of residency. Require knowledge of swallow studies with radiology.
Evaluates and treats patients requiring speech-language therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
- Educates and counsels patient and family regarding treatment plans.
- Maintains clinical records and follows performance improvement recommendations.
- Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from speech therapy services.
- Provides information regarding appropriate support programs.
DUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program;
- Successful completion of the National Praxis Examination;
- Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year.
- One year of experience in a clinical setting required.
LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- The State of Michigan license; Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA
