Manufacturing Engineering Co-op

The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op will support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives within the manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience in process optimization, facility layout design, manufacturing standards, andLeanManufacturingpractices.Theco-opwillworkcloselywithengineeringandproductionteamstoimproveefficiency,quality,safety,andoverallmanufacturingperformancewhilegainingexposuretoreal-worldengineeringchallenges.KeyResponsibilitiesDevelopandmaintainfacilitylayoutdrawingsforproductionandsupportareasusingCADsoftware.Analyzemanufacturingworkflowsandproposeimprovementstoprocessflow,spaceutilization,andoperationalefficiencyusingLeanManufacturingprinciples.Conducttimestudiesandmaintainmanufacturinglaborstandards.Createandupdatestandardworkdocumentationandmanufacturingprocedures.Evaluatedatacollectionsystems,recommendenhancements,andsupportimplementationofimprovements.Assessergonomics,workplacesafety,and5Scompliancewithinmanufacturingoperations.Supportthedevelopment,testing,andimprovementofmanufacturingmethods,processes,andequipment.Analyzeworkflow,equipmentlayouts,andproductionrequirementstoimprovemanufacturingefficiencyandproductivity.Collect,analyze,andsummarizemanufacturingdatatoidentifytrendsandsupportdecision-making.Investigatemanufacturingissues,identifyrootcauses,andassistinimplementingcorrectiveactions.Researchanddocumentopportunitiesforcollaborativerobotics(cobots)andopticalinspectiontechnologieswithinmanufacturingflowcells.Maintainhighstandardsofproductqualitythroughorganization,workplacediscipline,andcontinuousimprovementefforts.Collaboratewithcross-functionalteamsandcontributetoengineeringprojectsasneeded.QualificationsSophomorestandingorhigherinMechanical,Manufacturing,IndustrialEngineering,orarelatedengineeringorsciencedisciplineatanaccreditedfour-yearcollegeoruniversity.ExperiencewithCADsoftware,preferablySolidWorks.Stronganalytical,problem-solving,andcriticalthinkingskillswithkeenattentiontodetail.Abilitytomanagemultipleprojectsandmeetdeadlineswithminimalsupervision.Excellentverbal,written,andinterpersonalcommunicationskills.Willingnesstoworkdirectlyontheproductionfloorinafast-pacedmanufacturingenvironment.ProficiencyinMicrosoftOfficeapplications,includingWord,Excel,andOutlook.Self-motivatedwithastrongdesiretolearn,acceptchallenges,andcontributetoateamenvironment.Abilitytoworkafull-timeinternshipschedule(40hoursperweek)throughouttheinternshipperiod.This Co-op offersvaluablehands-onexperienceinmanufacturingengineering,Leaninitiatives,processimprovement,automationtechnologies,andoperationalexcellencewhileprovidingmeaningfulexposuretoproductionandengineeringoperations. #CPEThis description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees within this classification.
