Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Recovery Unit

This is a 13-week contract position with a day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 09:00 to 21:30.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to patients of all ages recovering from surgical procedures. This fast-paced unit requires strong clinical skills and the ability to manage multiple patients safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative care and monitoring for patients in recovery.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) lines as needed.
• Assess patient conditions and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during the recovery process.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care.
• Document all patient interactions and care provided in the electronic health record (Epic).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active NY RN license is required.
• Certification in ACLS and PALS is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of charge experience preferred.
• Experience with a variety of surgical cases and patient populations.
• Travel experience is required for this position.
