Data Management Associate

Data Management Associate Brown University’s Division of Advancement is seeking a Data Management Associate. This role ensures that constituent and related Advancement data is accurate and accessible, supporting the critical mission of Brown University community engagement. The incumbent is responsible for the preparation, research, analysis, and processing of alumni, donor, and friend data originating from multiple sources, internal and external to the University, including identity information (name, gender, ethnicity, etc.), contact information, relationships, educational information, student involvements and awards, contact preferences, and many other data points that impact an individual's or organization's relationship with the Brown community. The Data Management Associate will ensure data quality is improved by identifying, evaluating, and resolving data hygiene/integrity issues across both unique situational challenges and the results of complex queries. The accuracy and effectiveness of internal and external reports sourced from Advancement rely on this work. This role provides excellent customer service through diplomatic contact with external constituents, which can have a significant impact on the constituent's relationship with the University. Education and Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in data processing or a related field such as bookkeeping, accounting, auditing, higher education, nonprofit, or fundraising. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Competencies Professionalism with effective written and oral communication with internal and external constituents, strong customer service and listening skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and information management systems. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines. Flexibility, cooperation, and collaboration with colleagues within the division, adapting to system and process changes. Strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and detail-oriented. Proficiency in a networked environment with Windows and critical software applications such as email, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet navigation. Experience with data management desired, preferably in financial or biographic data fields. Experience, understanding, and command of procedural work in reference to databases and quality control. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Blackbaud CRM systems is desired. Advancement or higher education experience desired.
