The Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to conducting adult oncology clinical research is current seeking a Grant Writer & Medical Editor to work a hybrid schedule out of our Center City Philadelphia office and participate in our grant writing process as well as manage all publication related activities.

The Grant Writer & Medical Editor is responsible for the management of projects undertaken by the ECOG-ACRIN Clinical Education and Awareness team, with a focus on the identification of new funding opportunities and the writing of complex grant proposals as well as other scientific and medical documents for the Coalition and its related entities (“Coalition”). This includes, but is not limited to, grant applications and the oversight of clinical education resource development. Incumbent is also responsible for building relationships that accomplish the goals of the Coalition.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to

•   Identify governmental, foundation, and private funding opportunities to further oncology research and collaborate with staff on proposals
• Coordinate with team to develop budgets and supporting documentation to accompany proposals
• Serve as a liaison to funding agencies
• Edit other scientific and medical documents/materials for clarity, grammar, formatting and adherence to applicable regulatory guidelines
• Review clinical education materials to ensure alignment and consistency with grant/program requirements
• Oversee the conceptualization, copywriting, editing, and layout of clinical education materials (including surveys and webinars), as well as other related publications/materials
• Manage the development, production, and distribution of identified materials on time and within budget

The ideal candidate should have the following background and experience

• An MS or equivalent degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• Five (5) years minimum of related work experience in clinical research–related grant writing
• Experience with variety of federal, state, foundation, and private grant submissions such as those under the Advanced Research Project Agency for Health (ARPA-H), the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute  (PCORI), Pew, and the Tobacco Settlement Fund
• Experience working with publications and developing other educational resources for oncology professionals and patients/advocates  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe tools and familiarity with publishing software
