Details Work in the Stepdown Cardiac unit of a hospital setting Care for cardiac telemetry patients requiring continuous monitoring Average daily census of 24 with a 4:1 patient ratio Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30 Charting completed using Epic EMR and Pyxis Floating to other units and campuses required based on qualifications and demonstrated competencies Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks Requirements Active SC or compact RN license required Minimum 1 year of recent Stepdown Cardiac or Cardiac Telemetry experience required Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required Skilled in IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration and tracheostomy management Prior charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Additional Information Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including use of Rapid Response and Code teams Manage cardiac drips, heparin protocols, and IV insulin/titration protocols Perform wound care and manage surgical drains as needed Care for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery Orientation occurs every Monday along with annual compliance training Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, subject to facility approval based on staffing needs Night shift candidates must reside 50 miles from the contracted campus for eligibility, with full pay rate granted at 100 miles Travelers under 50 miles from the facility are not eligible for this position Free parking is available American Traveler Job ID P-745970.
