The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.As a Senior Staff Software Engineer  at LinkedIn, you will set the technical direction for and lead teams in the implementation of Trust Experience and Regulatory Compliance solutions. As a key leader in the organization, you will research, build software, anticipate and influence architectures in other parts of the company, influence how products are built at LinkedIn, set the bar for operational health and excellence, while continuing to deliver member value. You will design technical solutions for the ecosystem across surfaces to create a cohesive and compliant experience for our members. You will act as the bridge between business and technology to help translate compliance objectives into technical specifications, design the architecture and ensure the solution aligns with our regulatory obligations. This involves collaborating with multiple stakeholders and being comfortable operating in a matrix environment. Ensure that needs are met through well designed and effectively implemented technology solutions.Stay ahead of evolving privacy, digital-platform, and AI regulations, translating new and anticipated obligations into pragmatic engineering directionArchitect solutions that complement both existing and new systems at LinkedIn to maintain member trust and enable compliance by design. Partner closely and across multiple engineering teams to raise the bar for trust experiences and ensure e2e compliance.Analyze complex systems problems and drive meaningful engineering and product decisions by balancing the risk, compliance and member value.Contribute to a multi-year initiative to transition and transform LinkedIn’s infrastructure to ensure continuous compliance even as regulations change and evolve. Deliver key insights, executive level reporting across the engineering teams to enable the right business decisions around improving trust and regulatory best practicesAct as a force multiplier by mentoring engineers, influencing technical direction across the org, and contributing deeply to culture, hiring, and technical excellenceLead regulatory incident response and post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement preventive measures. Develop and maintain processes and procedures to ensure timely resolution of issues and minimize impact on members and customersQualificationsBasic Qualifications:BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.5+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions5+ years of experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, C#2+ years of experience in an architect or technical leadership position 2+ years experience delivering engineering solutions in a regulatory, compliance, privacy, or any trust and safety domainPreferred Qualifications:BS and 10+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 8+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD and 6+ years of relevant work experience.Hands-on experience building engineering solutions for large compliance initiatives - Examples include, DMA, GPDR, DSA, AI Act.Hands-on experience in the trust and safety domainWork experience in the technology industryHands on experience building engineering solutions for internet scale products.Proven success designing and leading architectural transformations at internet-scale companiesStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience influencing across multiple orgs and leadership levelsDeep knowledge of various data systems, particularly around management of data.Track record of setting long-term technical strategy and driving systemic improvements to meet regulatory and compliance requirementsGrowth mindset to keep up with evolving technology and regulatory landscape and agility to adapt quicklyBusiness acumen to understand the business outcomes and align technical solutions with compliance requirements while balancing business outcomes. The pay range for this role is $185,000 - $304,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
