Summer 2026 MD Intern, Internal Medicine

Overview

We are looking for a medical student currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. medical school to participate in a summer internship in our Internal Medicine Clinical Development Unit. This role focuses on drug discovery and development, providing hands‑on experience with clinical trial data analysis and project collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Gain a general understanding of our global development organization.
• Complete a hands‑on project impacting the business.
• Engage with Regeneron leadership, hiring manager, and other interns.
• Establish connections with diverse employee resource groups.
• Participate in professional development sessions.
• Present knowledge gained in end‑of‑program sessions.

Project Specifics

• Work on a project team in the Internal Medicine Clinical Development Unit.
• Analyze clinical trial data from recent studies or databases, focusing on cardiovascular, pulmonary, immunological, or inflammatory diseases.
• Learn statistical modeling with SAS JMP, including data cleaning, statistical analysis, and linear regression (univariate and multivariate).
• Review pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) data from clinical trials.
• Receive training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards, ICH and FDA guidelines.
• Attend strategic project, global clinical sub, and global regulatory sub team meetings.
• Deliver presentation of research experiences at conclusion of internship.

Requirements

• Medical student currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. medical school (MD). Completed at least first‑year basic‑science curriculum.
• Commit to 40 hours per week for a minimum of 6–8 weeks, during the period from late May/early June through August.
• Adequate time for on‑site attendance at Regeneron offices in Tarrytown, NY, 5 days per week.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Preferred: GPA ≥ 3.0, prior research experience, leadership in campus activities, clubs, or community.
• Knowledge of biostatistics, experimental design, and scientific method preferred.
• Experience with R, Python, SPSS, SAS, or SAS JMP a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay range: $32.00–$40.70 per hour (Tarrytown, NY).
