At APEX, we prepare and serve great food in professional corporate environments. Our catering team helps create memorable experiences for employees and guests by delivering fresh food, setting up beautiful displays, and making sure every event runs smoothly from start to finish. As a Catering Runner, you'll play an important role behind the scenesand sometimes right in the middle of the action! You'll help prepare catering orders, safely transport food and supplies, set up conference rooms and serving areas, provide support during events, and clean up when the event is complete. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position where attention to detail, dependability, and teamwork are essential. You'll assist with preparing catering orders, gathering food and supplies, transporting items to conference rooms and event locations, setting up food and beverage stations, and helping with breakdown and cleanup after events. You'll need to be organized, dependable, and comfortable working at a steady pace. You'll often be moving between the kitchen, storage areas, conference rooms, and other locations, so being able to anticipate what the team needs and stay one step ahead is an important part of the job. This is a hands-on position where your work directly contributes to creating a great experience for our customers and their guests. What You'll Do Prepare for Catering Events Assist with preparing catering orders according to event requirementsGather food, beverages, serving equipment, utensils, supplies, and other items needed for each eventReview catering orders to ensure all necessary items are includedHelp package and organize food for transportationLabel and organize catering items as neededMake sure orders are complete and ready for deliveryCommunicate with the catering team regarding special requests or event details Deliver & Transport Catering Safely transport food, beverages, equipment, and supplies to conference rooms and event locationsDeliver catering orders on time and according to event schedulesUse carts and other equipment safely when transporting itemsHandle food and catering supplies carefully to maintain quality and presentationCommunicate with team members when deliveries are complete or additional items are neededHelp ensure the right food and supplies arrive at the right location Set Up Great Events Set up food and beverage stations in conference rooms and event spacesArrange food, serving pieces, utensils, beverages, condiments, and other supplies according to event requirementsHelp create an attractive and organized presentationSet up tables, serving equipment, signage, and other event materials as neededMake sure everything is clean, stocked, and ready before guests arrivePay close attention to event details and special requestsComplete setups efficiently while maintaining APEX standards Support the Event Monitor catering areas during events as neededReplenish food, beverages, utensils, and suppliesKeep serving areas clean, organized, and presentableRespond to customer needs in a friendly and professional mannerAssist with last-minute requests and changesCommunicate with the catering team throughout the eventHelp ensure customers and guests have a positive experienceJump in wherever needed to support the event Break Down & Clean Up Once the event is over, you'll help bring everything back to APEX standards. Remove food, dishes, serving equipment, and supplies from event spacesBreak down tables, serving stations, and catering displaysTransport equipment and supplies back to the appropriate locationsClean and sanitize catering equipment and work areasProperly store reusable supplies and equipmentDispose of trash and waste appropriatelyMake sure conference rooms and event spaces are left clean and organizedHelp prepare equipment and supplies for the next catering event Keep Things Safe & Clean Food safety and cleanliness are an important part of the APEX experience.
