Quality Lab TechnicianQuality Lab TechnicianLocation: Sandston, VAJob Type: Full-Time, HourlyPosition Summary Wise Staffing Group is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Quality Lab Technician for a full-time opportunity in Sandston, VA. This position is responsible for conducting product and packaging performance testing, compiling test data, preparing customer reports, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting quality and product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in quality assurance, quality auditing, laboratory testing, or quality control, along with strong Microsoft Excel and Access skills. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, testing procedures, and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCompile test data and prepare accurate reports for customers.Conduct product development and performance testing.Perform ASTM and ISTA testing in accordance with established procedures.Follow applicable ASTM, ISTA, UN, TAPPI, and company quality procedures and standards.Ensure testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.Coordinate repairs and maintenance of laboratory equipment as needed.Analyze and interpret testing results and evaluate their potential impact on product and box performance.Monitor laboratory environmental conditions and controls.Work closely with the Quality Manager and other team members to plan and execute projects.Manage and complete assigned quality and testing projects within established timelines.Assist Quality team members with their assigned projects and initiatives.Monitor equipment conditions and report potential issues to the Quality Manager.Interact professionally with internal customers and other departments.Maintain accurate documentation and records related to testing and quality activities.Follow all applicable local, state, and federal safety requirements.Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.Qualifications2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Auditing, Quality Control, or Quality Technician work preferred.Experience with laboratory, product testing, or manufacturing quality processes preferred.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to analyze information, identify problems, and determine appropriate solutions.Ability to follow detailed written, verbal, and graphic instructions.Strong computer and data-entry skills.Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a quality team.Testing & Technical Knowledge Experience or familiarity with the following is highly desirable:ASTM testing standardsISTA testing proceduresTAPPI standardsUN testing requirementsProduct and packaging performance testingLaboratory equipment calibration and maintenanceData analysis and reportingMicrosoft Excel and AccessPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Frequent use of hands to handle and operate equipment and materials.Ability to reach with hands and arms.Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.Ability to occasionally sit.Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.Must have adequate close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.Work EnvironmentManufacturing and laboratory environment.Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.May be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.Occasional exposure to elevated areas, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.Work environment can be loud and requires consistent attention to safety procedures.Must follow all required safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, dependable, and safety-conscious, with the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain accurate testing and quality records.
