Job Title: Maintenance Planner

Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Location: 300 W Commercial St, Waterloo, IA 50703
Duration: 24 Months
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Work Type: Fully Onsite

 

 

Role Summary

Plan and schedule ongoing and preventive maintenance for plant equipment, buildings, and facilities. Coordinate maintenance work, resources, parts, materials, and skilled trades personnel to support equipment reliability and uptime.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, prioritize, plan, and assign maintenance requests.
• Schedule preventive maintenance for production and facility equipment.
• Coordinate work for mechanics, toolmakers, pipe fitters, tool grinders, machine hands, and other maintenance personnel.
• Provide technical support by obtaining drawings, identifying parts/tools, and reviewing proper procedures.
• Identify suppliers, obtain quotes, and issue purchase orders for parts, repairs, materials, and services.
• Provide daily work direction and may supervise maintenance personnel when the supervisor is absent.
• Generate maintenance and operational reports as needed.
• Track crib/self-help inventory and stock usage to maintain appropriate levels and reduce costs.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance reports to improve machine uptime and support OSHA/ANSI standards.
• Participate in engineering services projects supporting facility and equipment maintenance.

 

Work Environment

• 100% onsite; no remote work.
• Shop-floor/factory environment.
• Approximately 80% of the day on your feet.
• Business casual dress code.
• Metatarsal safety boots required on the first day.
• Occasional travel within the facility is required.
• Teams interview preferred.

 

Driving Requirements

• May operate a John Deere-owned Gator inside the connected factory to travel between office/work areas.
• Must complete required Deere safety training before operating the Gator.
• May transport a laptop, parts, or tools; other employees may ride along.
• Gator use is indoors only.
• May occasionally drive a personal vehicle to other company facilities within a 20-mile radius.
• Rental cars are not used for this travel.

• Candidates must be comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop-floor environment.
• Must be comfortable with extended periods of standing and walking.
