Florida Licensed Inpatient Coder

Experienced in acute care inpatient coding, the full-time Florida Licensed Inpatient Coder will review and code medical and surgical cases across multiple specialties, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining a quality rating of at least 95% while working remotely. Key responsibilities Abstract, code, and sequence clinical information from various medical records, ensuring accurate diagnosis and procedure coding Utilize technical coding principles and reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate codes while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards Track productivity and maintain a minimum of 1.5 charts per hour while adhering to HIPAA and company policies Required qualifications Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a large acute care facility (at least 700 beds) Certification as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS is mandatory Experience with Cerner and a CAC, preferably Optum eCAC Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program Ability to work during regular business hours for training and maintain productivity expectations thereafter
