Senior Vice President, Strategic Operations

 

Opportunity

The Senior Vice President of Strategic Operations provides enterprise leadership for key operational initiatives across HHM Hotels’ portfolio. This position connects portfolio operations, analytics, technology, brand performance, owner relations, transitions, openings, and property support to strengthen execution and improve hotel performance.

 

Working closely with executive leadership, regional operations teams, ownership groups, brand partners, and corporate disciplines, the Senior Vice President translates business priorities into scalable operating strategies, systems, and resources. This leader oversees the Strategic Operations, Operations Analytics, and Guest Service and Quality functions, while directing task force deployment and other critical operational support initiatives.

 

Your Focus

 

Strategic Operations Leadership

• Establish and lead the strategic operations agenda in alignment with organizational priorities and portfolio needs.
• Convert enterprise objectives into clear operating plans, tools, standards, and measures of success.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen consistency, efficiency, guest satisfaction, and property-level accountability.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Revenue Management, Finance, Sales, People Support, Information Technology, and other corporate disciplines.
• Create practical processes and resources that hotel leaders can apply across HHM’s portfolio.
• Advise executive leadership on operational risks, emerging trends, portfolio needs, and opportunities for improvement.

 

Operations Analytics and Technology

• Lead the Strategic Operations function in providing hotel and portfolio leaders with useful reporting, comparative data, and insights that support decision making.
• Oversee the selection, implementation, adoption, and ongoing optimization of operational platforms, including Hotel Effectiveness and related workforce and performance-management technologies.
• Assess operational, labor, guest experience, and financial data to uncover trends, pinpoint performance concerns, and determine where action is needed.
• Establish consistent reporting practices and performance measures across the portfolio.
• Partner with technology and operations stakeholders to improve data quality, systems integration, user adoption, and operational visibility.
• Assess new technology and analytical tools that could help hotel teams work more effectively and make better-informed decisions.

 

Owner Relations and Reporting

• Participate directly in owner and asset-management relationships, providing clear communication regarding hotel performance, operational priorities, and strategic initiatives.
• Prepare and deliver meaningful operational reporting and recommendations for ownership groups and internal executive leadership.
• Support regional and property leaders in responding to owner concerns, performance challenges, and changing business priorities.
• Build confidence with ownership partners through transparency, sound judgment, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.

 

Transitions, Openings, and Operational Readiness

• Provide executive oversight for hotel transitions, including acquisitions, conversions, relinks, management-company changes, and property exits.
• Lead operational planning and readiness for hotel openings and relaunches.
• Coordinate cross-functional transition and opening workstreams, ensuring clear accountability, timelines, communications, and escalation protocols.
• Establish repeatable transition and opening processes that support brand compliance, operational continuity, staffing readiness, and a successful owner and guest experience.
• Identify risks early and mobilize appropriate corporate or field resources to support execution.

 

Task Force and Property Support

• Lead the deployment of internal and third-party task force resources across the portfolio.
• Establish criteria for prioritizing task force support based on operational risk, leadership vacancies, openings, transitions, and property performance.
• Oversee relationships with third-party task force providers and ensure assignments meet HHM’s operating, service, and financial expectations.
• Monitor assignment effectiveness, costs, outcomes, and recurring property needs.
• Partner with regional leadership to stabilize hotels experiencing operational or leadership challenges and develop sustainable transition plans.

 

Brand Partnerships, Standards, and Quality

• Manage senior-level relationships with HHM’s core partners, helping align brand requirements with company priorities and owner expectations.
• Guide companywide work related to brand requirements, quality assurance, guest experience, and service delivery.
• Oversee the Guest Service and Quality function, using guest feedback and quality results to establish priorities and direct hotel-level action.
• Work with regional and property leaders to resolve service concerns, quality deficiencies, and areas of brand risk.
• Set clear expectations for operational execution while accounting for the needs of branded, independent, full-service, select-service, lifestyle, and luxury hotels.

 

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop the Strategic Operations and Guest Service and Quality functions.
• Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability across the function.
• Build a highly collaborative team capable of balancing long-term strategic initiatives with urgent portfolio needs.
• Coach and develop leaders while building organizational capability and succession readiness.
• Maintain productive relationships across corporate departments, regional leadership, hotel teams, ownership groups, and brand organizations.

 

Your Background and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in hotel operations, strategic operations, operational excellence, or a related discipline.
• Senior-level experience supporting a multi-property portfolio of branded and independent hotels across multiple service segments.
• Demonstrated success leading hotel transitions, openings, operational initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
• Experience working with hotel owners, asset managers, brand representatives, and senior executives.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations, analytics, labor productivity, technology platforms, guest experience, brand standards, and financial performance.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with varied stakeholders, and travel regularly based on business needs.
