Management Liability Underwriter / Account Executive - Financial Institutions

Compensation Overview The annual base salary range for this position is $89,800.00 - $148,300.00. The actual salary will be determined by factors such as scope, complexity, location, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, and other conditions of employment. Employees are also eligible for performance‑based cash incentive awards. What Is the Opportunity? Bond & Specialty Insurance provides management and professional liability insurance, as well as surety bonds, to businesses and non‑profit organizations of all sizes. This role is part of the Financial Institutions team, which offers protection to banks, credit unions, insurance companies, asset managers, and diversified financial institutions. The role blends evaluating and analyzing financial and business risk, building relationships, and selling and negotiating with clients, agents, and brokers. Coverages include Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, CyberRisk, Kidnap and Ransom, Financial Institution Bond, and Errors and Omission Liability. The Account Executive (AE) will build and maintain relationships with agents and brokers to provide insurance or surety solutions, analyze risk, and achieve business goals within an assigned book of business. What Will You Do? Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business. Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability. Execute business unit underwriting strategies to achieve profit and growth objectives. Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to identify cross-selling opportunities. Foster and maintain relationships with external partners by meeting in person with agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers products, traveling as required. Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills. Develop and execute individual agency sales plans that align with the team’s plans. Perform other duties as assigned. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Bachelor’s degree. 3 to 5 years of applicable underwriting experience. Working knowledge of products, regulatory environment, and local market conditions. Strong critical thinking skills for underwriting, marketing, and financial analysis. Effective communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers. Must Have At least 2 years of underwriting, product knowledge, financial analysis, or risk assessment experience.
