Billing Specialist

Modrall Sperling is seeking a Billing Specialist to join our Accounting team in Albuquerque. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of billing experience, preferably in a law firm environment. Candidates with strong billing or accounting experience who demonstrate the ability to learn law firm billing procedures and software will also be considered.The successful candidate will be detail oriented, organized, dependable, and able to prioritize work in a fast paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, legal assistants, and members of the Accounting team are essential.Responsibilities• Manage the monthly billing cycle, including distributing prebills, making corrections to cost and fee billing entries, and finalizing and distributing client bills through both traditional and electronic billing processes.• Work with the Electronic Billing Coordinator to process and monitor electronic billing.• Work with attorneys and legal assistants regarding billing rates, client billing details, invoice requirements, and other billing questions.• Appeal and manage rejected or reduced time entries and invoices on electronic billing sites within specified timeframes.• Review billing information for accuracy and identify and resolve discrepancies.• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.• Perform other billing and accounting related duties as assigned.Qualifications• 2 to 4 years of billing experience, preferably in a law firm environment.• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.• Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.• Ability to learn new software, billing procedures, and electronic billing requirements.• Professional, dependable, and responsive approach to working with attorneys, staff, and clients.• Previous law firm billing experience is preferred but not required.Preferred ExperienceFamiliarity with the following is a plus, but candidates who do not have experience with these systems may be considered based on their overall billing or accounting experience and ability to learn:• eBillingHub• Serengeti• Collaborati• CounselLink• LEDES files• Aderant or other legal billing softwareBenefitsModrall Sperling offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including:• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• Life insurance• Short term and long term disability insurance• 401(k) retirement plan• Paid time offModrall Sperling is an equal opportunity employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
