ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager owns Creative Window Interiors' ShadeSafely Safety Management System end to end — authoring and maintaining all written programs, job hazard analyses, and document control; maintaining OSHA recordkeeping; and managing company TRIR and EMR performance. Day to day, the role drives field execution across roughly 800 projects annually and 9 to 12 active jobsites: quality-grading every Pre-Task Plan, conducting pre-mobilization site assessments, jobsite and warehouse inspections, administering the weekly toolbox talk program, and coaching Lead Installers as designated site safety representatives. Performance is tracked and reported through the Weekly Safety Performance Score tracker, per-lead scorecards, and a corrective action register, with leading-indicator reporting to Operations leadership. The position also delivers and tracks all Cal/OSHA Title 8 required training, new hire orientation, OSHA 30 certification, CPR/First Aid, and biennial Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.

The role serves as CWI's safety representative to general contractors, clients, the insurance broker and carrier, and occupational medical providers. This includes reviewing subcontract agreements, safety exhibits, and the NorCal Carpenters Master Labor Agreement to identify flow-down obligations; completing prequalification and program submittals; managing GC and client safety portals; and administering safety requirements under Owner Controlled Insurance Programs. The manager responds to injuries and incidents at time of occurrence, conducts investigations and root cause analysis, determines OSHA recordability, and manages workers' compensation claims from injury through closure with Travelers and Acrisure — including return-to-work coordination and the driver MVR program. Additional ownership spans occupational health and pre-employment screening (Concentra, Onsite Health and Safety, DataFit), full fleet safety and maintenance administration for approximately 20 vehicles via Verizon Connect Reveal, vehicle outfitting, California motor carrier compliance, and the safety equipment and PPE budget, including vendor selection and 

QUALIFICATIONS

Requried

• Five or more years of construction or field safety experience, including program development and implementation.

• Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA Title 8 and OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and 1910

• Demonstrated experience authoring and administering written safety programs

• Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis

• Working knowledge of California workers' compensation claims administration

• Experience with fall protection, aerial lift operations, ladder safety, and hand and power tool safety

• Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety and reporting platforms

Preferred

• CSP certification — CHST, OHST, ASP, or CSP

• Experience in commercial interior or specialty trade construction

• Experience with fleet telematics and vehicle program administration

• Experience with general contractor prequalification systems 

• Familiarity with union master labor agreements

• Exercises sound judgment on matters carrying legal, financial, and employee-safety consequence

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed across the corporate office, warehouse, and active commercial construction jobsites, with regular travel throughout the SF Bay Area. The position requires the ability to access active construction environments, including work at height, use of ladders and aerial lifts, and exposure to typical jobsite conditions. xhyhwjd Occasional after-hours availability is required for incident response.
