Job Details Job ID: 5749127 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: May 29, 2026 4:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Location: Anthony Carnevale Elementary School and DelSesto Middle School (Shared) Prep Days (NOT PD Days): June 29‑30, 2026 Program Dates: Mon‑Thurs July 6‑30, 2026 Data Day: July 31, 2026 Hours: 8:15am‑12:45pm Pay: $40/hr (contingent upon enrollment and funding) Under direction of the school principal and/or appropriate supervisor, the Speech Pathologist will provide services to students currently enrolled in 180‑day Special Education classes who require speech therapy, consistent with the Extended School Year (ESY) services component for students’ Individual Educational Program (IEP). Education, Training and Experience RIDE Requirements: PK‑12 Speech Pathologist ESL Preferred Minimum Qualifications Standards Masters or equivalency in speech–language pathology. Ability to screen, evaluate, diagnose, and remediate communication disorders of students, ages three to twenty‑one. Ability to develop and implement appropriate goals and objectives for each individual student and to select and utilize therapeutic materials effectively with individuals and small groups. Good communication and human‑relations skills needed to implement a consultative program with classroom teachers and parents. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of the Team of Qualified Professionals and other school‑based teams to implement administrative policies and procedures. Formulate concise clinical reports and maintain complete longitudinal records on each student served. Demonstrated proficiency with PC‑based computer applications, Microsoft Office, e‑mail, web applications, and industry‑specific technology. Responsibilities and Duties Screen, evaluate, and provide appropriate services to students with communication disorders (articulation, voice, language, and fluency) to help each reach their maximum potential. Administer speech and language screening procedures; evaluate the speech and language of each referred student; report and interpret findings to the team of qualified professionals. Utilize a variety of measures, both formal and informal, appropriate for evaluating various communication disorders; write clear, objective evaluations. Develop clear, behaviorally stated goals and objectives for each student for speech and language remediation based on evaluative data. Implement the Individual Educational Plan for each student served and periodically evaluate its effectiveness; develop and maintain a regularly scheduled speech and language program. Participate as a member of the Team of Qualified Professionals and the IEP team, contributing evaluation findings and collaborating on the development of the IEP; diagnose students’ eligibility consistent with district, federal, and state policies. Participate in timely computer logging services for Medicaid billing, use the web‑based IEP system, and participate in time studies for administrative Medicaid claiming as scheduled. Adhere to requirements and state and federal laws regarding students with disabilities. Maintain a web‑based portfolio for students assigned to the caseload as appropriate. Proficient in the language of instruction. Allocate appropriate time for observation, testing, case management, and paperwork associated with providing necessary services and support to students. Assist in assessing, identifying, and maintaining assistive technology equipment and supplies to meet the goals and objectives of students’ IEP. Collaborate with and provide consultation to classroom teachers, parents, caregivers, and other staff to implement and integrate therapy strategies across all settings, including appropriate classroom modification and progress monitoring. Participate in school‑based problem‑solving teams to identify at‑risk students experiencing expressive or receptive language delays, assist in designing and implementing research‑based interventions, and monitor student progress. Develop individual or group activities and programs in schools to address speech, language, or swallowing disorders. Document observational notes in the portfolios of students. Attend professional meetings scheduled for speech‑language pathologists; participate in planned in‑service/professional growth activities. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned. Complete progress reports at the end of the ESY period through the web‑based program or in Google Docs.
