Program Specialist

Under the direction of the Director of Student Support Services, the Program Specialist shall provide a range of duties involving the implementation of laws, regulations, and policies at the state, federal, and District level to effectively support VCPUSD in providing a continuum of services for students. Responsibilities will include supporting sites with a multi-tiered system of support addressing proactive and pre-referral strategies for the behavior, academic, social, and emotional needs of students. This job reports to the Director of Student Support Services.

Experience: Job related experience within specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility. Education: Master's degree and advanced training and related experience in education and of individuals with exceptional needs or an ability to obtain a valid administrative services credential within 2 years from date of hire. Equivalency: Must have completed at least 5 years of successful classroom teaching or related work in the field of special education. Certificates & Licenses: California Special Education Credential Clinical Services Credential, or a school psychologist authorization; and a valid administrative services credential or an ability to obtain an administrative services credential within 2 years from date of hire. California Driver's License Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance Tb Clearance.

Additional Notes regarding salary placement: (1) Placement and advancement on the salary schedule for management team members is made upon recommendation of the Superintendent and approval of the Board. (2) Management employees will receive an annual stipend of $ 5,956 (3) District approved Master and Doctoral Degrees will receive a $2,374 stipend annually. (4) Administrators who have completed four years of experience as a Certificated Administrator or Classified Manager (either through direct VCPUSD experience or up to four years granted from previous experience in another district) qualify for longevity increments. A $ 1,888 stipend is granted to management employees at the start of their fifth (5th), eighth (8th), eleventh (11th), and fourteenth (14th) years of Management service.
