Responsibilities Perform direct patient care, including evaluation of muscle, skeletal, neurological and other physical problems. Support and encourage multidisciplinary coordination of treatment. Ensure proper documentation of patient care, including compliance with corporate and regulatory policies. Plan, design, implement and interpret specific physical therapy treatment programs to facilitate recovery. Educate patients in proper care, use of supports and performance of exercise programs. Perform or delegate patient treatment including modalities, therapeutic exercises, gait training and hydrotherapy. Secure prescription for each patient treated. Work closely with physicians to ensure comprehensive delivery of services and quality patient care. Assist marketing staff with tours if necessary. Take precautions to protect center assets and property against loss or waste. Communicate with Outcome Assurance Injury Coordinator or the Case Manager regarding patient progress, compliance and discharge timeline. Participate in clinical instruction of university occupational therapy students or occupational therapy assistant students. Assist with evaluation of the effectiveness of the rehabilitation quality management process and support improved processes. Ensure compliance with rules and regulations established by licensing, certification and accreditation bodies. Collaborate with department administrators and provide timely reports of issues, needs and solutions. Maintain professional standards through quality assurance policies and procedures. Demonstrate effective problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program. Master’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program (preferred). Ortho‑outpatient experience (preferred). Strong communication and interaction skills with all levels of employees. Computer proficiency. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in developing patient care records, writing reports, time‑management, planning and workload control. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards. Skill in establishing effective communication and working relationships with management, patients, medical staff and the general public. Must successfully complete orientation and training and demonstrate competency in all required physical therapy tasks.
