Manager, Sales Engineering - Federal

Role

We are looking for a Manager, Sales Engineering - Federal to join our team. This is a Remote (DC Metro Area) role, reporting to the Federal Sales Engineering Director in the Zscaler Federal department. The Manager, Sales Engineering - Federal provides direction and specialist knowledge to Sales Engineers supporting Federal Agencies and their missions. Working in close partnership with the Sales leadership, this role directs Sales Engineering resources through the entire sales cycle while delivering technical and functional leadership. You will play an instrumental role in account planning and strategy, serve as a key advisor to customers for long-term success, and actively develop team capability through coaching and high-impact execution.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

• Drive increased execution on building technical champions across our customer base

• Lead the recruiting, training, and ongoing development of top engineering talent on the team

• Manage up to 8 individual contributors while driving technical wins across the federal customer base

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools , with a proven history of integrating new technologies to enhance daily workflows and augment problem-solving

• Experience selling to and working with Federal Civilian Agencies

• Requirement to reside within 2–3 hours of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area

• Demonstrated experience managing a high-performing team of engineers

• U.S. citizenship required

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Active AI-forward certifications or experience with platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, or Claude

• Technical expertise in networking and proxy-based architectures

• Active U.S. Government security clearance
