AutoCAD Civil 3D CAD Design Specialist

Job Description AECOM is seeking an experienced Civil 3D CADD Specialist in Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC, Columbia, SC, or Charleston, SC. The role involves working with interdisciplinary teams on Advanced Manufacturing & Logistics Projects in a programmatic approach. The position offers hybrid work options and the flexibility to work from an AECOM office, a remote location, or a client site. Responsibilities Perform both routine and non‑routine drafting assignments, scale and edit assignments using computer‑aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software to achieve set results and deadlines. CAD drafting and design for infrastructure projects (ports, civil, rail). Drafting and design for projects involving civil, buildings, earthworks, utilities, stormwater, rail, and/or roadways. Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software (AutoCAD). Assist with creating and modifying 3D models, renderings, and/or animations for promotion and proposals. Perform complex assignments using multiple application platforms and complex systems, including Revit software, to achieve set results and deadlines. Own moderately difficult design tasks with minimal supervision. Coordinate with other technicians and related disciplines to produce design deliverables. Lead development of drawing packages for a coherent functional set of plans. Prepare design submissions and other technical documents. Ensure design drawings comply with the suggested data requirements. Assist senior engineers and designers as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 2 years of civil CAD experience. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience taking engineering specifications and inputting them into engineering drawings. Experience with infrastructure projects, utility profiles, and cross‑sections. Experience assembling, managing, and manipulating large site surface models. Experience working with civil site projects on master planning, conceptual design drawings, construction drawings, and engineering detail drawings (preferred). Experience with Revit (preferred). Desire to be mentored by leadership and to provide mentorship to junior staff. Detail‑oriented and technical, yet capable of seeing the big picture. Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work with an innate desire for follow‑through. Ability to work independently and with large groups of technical minded people with minimal oversight. Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team‑oriented work environment. Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000. All newly hired employees are required to attend an in‑person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
