Staff Accountant

Type: Full-Time Pay: $75,000–$85,000 annually (depending on experience) Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision & 401K match. Position Summary Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This position is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and a desire to grow within a collaborative finance organization. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP. Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items. Assist with month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely financial reporting. Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and prepaid expense tracking. Analyze financial data and investigate variances. Prepare supporting schedules for internal and external audits. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting. Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes. Perform additional accounting projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. 1–3 years of accounting experience (internship experience may be considered). Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
