Shipping Technician

Job TitleAssist Receiving personnel as a fill in when neededLoad and unload trucks as neededCheck staged parts for accuracy before loadingNote packaging variations on pick ticket if different than quoted packagingUse shipping schedules for referencePick, scan, relabel, shrink wrap, and stage shipmentsCycle count inventory as requestedContain and process defective product from finished goods and shipments to containment area as instructedAssist in training other shipping techs as neededWork with all departments to ensure timely delivery of quality productVerify counts, weights, and measure against bill of lading, invoices, orders, and other recordsCompute number of cartons and returnables received; Inventory of returnable usage and track from each customerKeep detailed records of what is received and outgoing and submit as applicableUse of FIFO in handling components, resin, WIP, and finished goodsDocument forklift discrepancies on Form F-0502 and submit to maintenanceIdentify and initiate any continuous improvement activitiesMaintain housekeeping throughout the area of responsibility in the plantMust work to all safety policies and goals of the companyUnderstand the quality system as it relates to your function in ISO/IATF 16949Maintain and wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as requiredAssist with inventory when applicableRequirementsHigh school diploma or G.E.D. (ability to read and minimal mathematics)Must be able to work with and understand part numbersAbility to work independently with limited supervisionAbility to communicate well with others and maintain a positive attitudeAbility to lift up to 40 LBSMust be able to pass a written and driving forklift testMust be able to work multiple shifts and overtime as needed to meet internal and customer requirementsAttendance must be in good standingKnowledge with material shippers, packing slips, bills of lading, invoices, misc delivery paperwork, and loading and unloading trucksMust complete a new employee orientation (if applicable)Perform all other duties as the company may require
