Hungry Bear Café is looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Customer Service & Cook to join our team in Groveland.

This is a cross-trained position where you'll work in both the Front of House and Back of House. Depending on the needs of the café, you may be greeting customers and taking orders, preparing coffee and milkshakes, cooking menu items, prepping food, or helping wherever the team needs you.

We're looking for someone who is willing to learn, works well with others, and is comfortable jumping in wherever they're needed. Restaurant, café, customer service, or cooking experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person.

What You'll Do Customer Service / Front of House

• Greet guests and provide friendly, welcoming customer service.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders.
• Prepare coffee, specialty drinks, milkshakes, and other menu items.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash and customer payments.
• Run food and ensure orders are accurate and properly presented.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables.
• Answer customer questions and provide menu recommendations.
• Help resolve customer concerns professionally, involving a manager when needed.

Cooking / Back of House

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and company standards.
• Complete daily food prep according to established quantities and station needs.
• Set up, stock, and maintain kitchen stations.
• Safely use cooking equipment, cutting tools, cookware, and other kitchen equipment.
• Work efficiently while maintaining food quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Plate and present food according to company standards.
• Check ingredient quality and properly store food and supplies.
• Receive, organize, and put away inventory and deliveries.
• Clean and maintain kitchen stations and equipment.
• Assist with dishes and other cleaning duties as needed.

Team & Operations

• Be willing to work in both Front and Back of House as needed.
• Follow direction from Team Leaders and managers.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly checklists.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Promptly report equipment, food quality, safety, or other operational concerns to a manager.
• Help create a positive experience for both customers and coworkers.

Restaurant, café, customer service, or cooking experience is preferred but not required. We're looking for someone who is trainable and willing to learn both sides of the operation.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods, generally 2–4 hours at a time.
• Frequently bend, reach, turn, kneel, lift, and move throughout the shift.
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Safely use common cleaning chemicals and food-service equipment.
• Work around common food allergens, including fruits, nuts, raw meats, shellfish, and other food products.
