Senior Accountant

Location: Inland Empire, CA Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000+, depending on experience Schedule: Full-time | In-office / local candidates preferred A well-established local CPA firm in the Inland Empire is seeking a Senior Accountant / Senior Tax & Accounting Associate to join its growing team. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys a true generalist role with exposure to both tax preparation and accounting / assurance work . The firm works closely with closely held businesses, individuals, and clients in specialized industries, including agriculture. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands‑on client exposure, variety in their work, and the ability to grow within a smaller, relationship‑driven public accounting environment. What You’ll Do Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, including 1040s, partnerships, S-Corps, and other entity returns Prepare reviewed financial statements and related workpapers Work with general ledger accounting, trial balances, adjusting entries, and year‑end workpapers Assist with review and compilation engagements Support tax planning and client advisory projects as needed Communicate with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide support Work closely with firm leadership and senior team members on client engagements Support payroll, business property tax, and other accounting‑related projects as needed What We’re Looking For 3–7 years of recent public accounting experience Experience with both tax preparation and accounting / assurance work Strong experience preparing reviewed financial statements and workpapers Experience using CCH ProSystem Engagement strongly preferred Proficiency with individual and partnership tax returns required S-Corp and business entity tax experience preferred CPA license or progress toward CPA is a plus Agriculture, dairy, or closely held business client experience is a plus Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through Ability to work directly with clients in a small‑firm environment Why This Opportunity This is a great fit for someone who wants more variety than a strictly tax‑only or audit‑only role.
