This role is responsible for overseeing inbound material receipts, verifying product accuracy and condition, coordinating dock activities, maintaining inventory integrity, and serving as a technical resource for the receiving team. The Receiving Lead is a working leader who provides day-to-day direction, training, and support while actively participating in receiving operations. This position partners closely with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Inventory Control, Planning, and Logistics teams to ensure materials are received accurately, processed efficiently, and available to support production and customer requirements.What You'll DoMaintain a safe working environment across all receiving dock, warehouse, and material handling activities.Provide daily direction and support to receiving personnel to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to priorities.Coordinate inbound shipments, unloading activities, and receiving schedules with carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and receiving documentation.Inspect incoming materials for quantity, quality, packaging condition, and compliance with company requirements.Process receipts in the ERP system and ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions.Coordinate nonconforming material activities, including documentation, segregation, and communication with Purchasing and Quality teams.Support material identification, labeling, traceability, and inventory accuracy requirements.Monitor dock operations to ensure materials are unloaded, staged, and moved efficiently to appropriate locations.Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, shortages, overages, damages, and supplier-related issues.Collaborate with Inventory Control and Materials teams to support cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory accuracy initiatives.Maintain receiving documentation and records in accordance with company procedures and audit requirements.Train and onboard team members on receiving processes, ERP transactions, safety requirements, and equipment operation.Maintain organized receiving areas, staging locations, and warehouse housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S principles.Support safe operation and maintenance of forklifts, overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and other material handling equipment.Successfully complete training and competency requirements for internal certifications including Overhead Bridge Crane Operation, Forklift, Scissor Lift, and Reach Stacker operation.Identify opportunities to improve receiving processes, dock utilization, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.What You BringHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in receiving, warehouse, logistics, distribution, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.Previous experience serving as a lead, coordinator, trainer, or informal team leader preferred.Strong knowledge of receiving operations, inventory control processes, material flow, and warehouse best practices.Experience receiving and processing shipments from domestic and international suppliers.Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.Familiarity with shipping documents, packing slips, bills of lading, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.Experience utilizing ERP systems and inventory management software, preferably Syteline CSI.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and support team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing business and production requirements.Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to safety, quality, accuracy, and operational excellence.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, inventory accuracy methodologies, and continuous improvement practices preferred.Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve receiving discrepancies while maintaining positive supplier and internal customer relationships.Ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, suppliers, carriers, customers, and external logistics partners.Ability to achieve performance objectives related to safety, inventory accuracy, receiving productivity, quality, and on-time material availability.Why This Role MattersThe Receiving Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and availability of materials entering the manufacturing process.
