Assistant Project Manager

Assistant Project ManagerJohn Moriarty & Associates of Virginia (JMAV) is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support construction project execution from preconstruction through closeout in the Washington DC Metro area. The APM will assist with scheduling, procurement, subcontractor coordination, document management, and project logistics.The APM should be located within daily driving distance of the Washington DC Metro and can expect to travel between different jobsites as needed.Roles And Responsibilities:The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the PM and site team on a wide range of tasks, including:Management of assigned trades in all facets of preconstruction to include quantity take-offs, preparation of bid packages, and buy-outOversee performance of assigned trades, including project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems, and maintain relationships with clients, designers, and consultantsSupporting the creation and maintenance of project schedulesAssisting with submittals, RFIs, and change order processingCoordinating project documentation and digital recordsCommunicating with subcontractors and vendorsEducation:4-year degree in Construction Management or related field requiredWork Experience:3-5 years of experience required, in commercial construction is preferredKnowledge, Skills, And Abilities:Strong critical thinking and proactive problem-solving abilitiesHighly organized with attention to detailEffective communicator and team collaboratorStrong multitasking and decision-making skillsAbility to travel daily across DC-Metro area jobsitesProficiency in Microsoft Office and construction platformsPhysical Requirements:Moderate physical activity; driving, walking rough terrain, climbing stairs/laddersWork Environment:Onsite, outdoor work in all weather conditions; moderate to loud noise exposureWe foster a culture that is diverse and inclusive and strive for pay practices that are fair, and competitive and reflect our commitment to pay equity.
