IMMI is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual to fill the role of CAPE Fabrication Technician . The CAPE Fabrication Technician to conduct customer testing services across all CAPE test centers ranging from fixture design and fabrication, test setup and preparation, 5S, and all other duties required to meet the objectives of the CAPE quality management system. The CAPE Fabrication Technician will work directly with the CAPE Lead Fabrication Technician, CAPE Fabrication and Test Technician Manager, the CAPE Finance-Quality-operations Manager, and CAPE Instrumentation Technicians on all aspects of CAPE projects while maintaining a high level of professionalism to ensure that customer deliverables are met, and customer specific interests remain confidential. The CAPE Fabrication Technician reports directly to the CAPE Fabrication and Test Technician Manager. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all duties in accordance with IMMI safety policies. Perform all duties in accordance with the CAPE Quality Manual and CAPE Code of Conduct policy. Review CAPE test requests, test preparation documents, and applicable supporting documentation prior to beginning test preparation to ensure clarity and completeness of information is supplied. Implement all applicable CAPE Quality Management System (QMS) documents including but not limited to WI Work Instructions, CKL Checklists, TS Test Setups, CA Forms, and all other CAPE QMS documents. Work with CAPE personnel to prepare test fixtures, setups, and conduct testing and post test tasks as required to meet testing objectives and timelines to ensure customer deliverables are met, including but not limited to Test Fixtures and Test Machinery. Work with the CAPE Operations Manager, CAPE Fabrication and Test Technician Manager, and CAPE Lead Fabrication Technician to establish and adjust schedules for customer test programs on CTR projects where assigned. Notify the CAPE Quality Manager of quality-related incidents or trends that are observed. Perform 5S at all CAPE test centers and fabrication shop. Be sure all communications and records (files) are free from poorly worded memos and reports which inaccurately describe customer products, development and/or testing efforts. Maintain a high level of confidentiality to protect sensitive information, products, and innovations for our customers. Understand and become familiar with applicable test centers and test machine operation including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems as well as overall operational and safety issues. Maintain a working level of knowledge and understanding of various standards applicable to the testing services that CAPE provides to customers. Provide input on quality management system documentation to improve quality and efficiency. Develop and maintain a working climate which increases the personal satisfaction of the individual and enhances productivity and quality of work through the achievement of CAPE departmental and divisional objectives. Develop and maintain a free open flow of information and foster a "can do" attitude between CAPE personnel and our customers within the guidelines of CAPE departmental and divisional objectives. Represent the company to the public, industry, and government in accordance with the company creed / core values. May not dispose of any capital assets of the Corporation or related companies. May not sign any contracts obligating the Corporation or related companies. May not change the objectives of his area of responsibility. May not violate the CAPE Code of Conduct policy or the IMMI Confidentiality Agreement. May not report opinions or interpretations. May not transmit any data or information generated from or associated with test services to anyone outside of CAPE without approval from CAPE. May not send any report(s) for test services prior to CAPE Management review and report approval. (Internal IMMI testing excluded) Maintains a harmonious working relationship with all IMMI/CAPE employees. Daily verbal and e‑mail communication with the CAPE Fabrication and Test Technician Manager as circumstances develop that will affect the following: Personnel safety. Competency or quality of test services, test data or test equipment. Completion of test services within the planned timeframe. Any other specific report(s) requested by Management to facilitate decision-making. Performance shall be measured with reference to the responsibilities described in this position description. A formal appraisal shall be conducted on an annual basis in accordance with IMMI policy. Qualifications: High level mechanical aptitude — familiarity with test centers. Must have a working knowledge with computers to efficiently operate (hands on) in an environment using Microsoft Office, etc. Must have verbal, auditory and written English skills sufficient to receive work direction, to participate on cross-functional teams, to communicate with customers, and to be able to meet the reporting requirements of this position including e‑mail, phone, and personal communication. Must be able to work within the IMMI/CAPE facility; this is not a work at home position. Must be able to be mobile for the entire day as required; this is not a desk job. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to perform the following as required: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, observing, and repetitive motions. Must maintain an IMMI forklift license. Must maintain an AWS welding certification. Must maintain an IMMI pyrotechnic license. Must maintain a valid driver's license and be able to drive when necessary.
