Senior Assessment and Authorization/RMF Support Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization Support Lead to provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in support of system security assessment and authorization activities for the Military Sealift Command (MSC) Cybersecurity Support Services contract. This role is responsible for supporting the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework process, ensuring systems meet security requirements and enabling secure mission operations in a dynamic, mission‑critical environment. Travel up to 40%. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and guidance for system security assessment and authorization activities across MSC Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Systems (C4S) Support execution of the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework process for system assessment and authorization Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of authorization packages and supporting documentation Ensure systems meet applicable cybersecurity requirements and are properly documented for authorization decisions Utilize eMASS to manage system authorization artifacts, track progress, and maintain compliance Review and provide feedback on Department of Defense cybersecurity documents, policies, orders, and instructions Interpret and apply Department of Defense cybersecurity policies and regulations, including 8500 and 5200 series guidance, within the afloat environment Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to support integrated system security efforts Support preparation for audits, inspections, and authorization reviews Ensure all activities align with MSC mission objectives and applicable Department of Defense and Navy policies Qualifications U.S. citizenship. Active Department of Defense SECRET security clearance, and ability to maintain one. Must meet Department of Defense cybersecurity workforce requirements for Information Assurance Manager Level III (or equivalent), including appropriate certification. Credentials to be designated as a Navy Qualified Validator. Experience in information technology security. Experience supporting system security assessment and authorization using the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework. Proficiency with eMASS for managing authorization packages and system compliance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Familiarity with Department of Defense cybersecurity policies and regulations and ability to interpret and apply them in an operational environment. Experience reviewing and providing feedback on cybersecurity documentation, policies, and instructions. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting assessment and authorization efforts within Military Sealift Command or other afloat environments.
