Warehouse AssistantThe Warehouse Assistant reports to the Controller of ISD742; with the direction of the Warehouse Lead, the Warehouse Assistant is responsible for receiving, checking in and distributing most school district supplies.Essential duties include:Manually unload shipments from delivery trucks to respective storage areas; forklifts and carts may also be used during the process of unloading deliveriesInspect all incoming shipments for damage and proper quantities against invoice; match manifest to delivered product and verify accuracy of ordersFill orders for supplies from district request formsDistribute supplies to appropriate schools by loading, driving and unloading District delivery vehiclesAssist in the preparation of inventory reports by counting and tallying on appropriate formsMaintain a log of daily warehouse activitiesDrive the delivery truck or vanRecord damaged shipments on appropriate formsMove equipment within or between buildings; decide on equipment and help needed to complete taskRotate inventory by marking dates and repositioning suppliesInspect the delivery truck and forklift for visible mechanical problems, proper tire and fluid levels and safe brake operation; determine if repairs are neededAlert supervisors of problems or stock shortagesAssume the duties of Warehouse Lead when that employee is absentComplete daily food deliveries to schools by 11:00 a.m.Adjust daily schedule as necessary to complete tasks on a timely basisAdvise supervisors as to space available to store items and suggest quantities to be ordered on stock itemsResponsible for daily security of warehouse locationsResponsible for inventory and ensuring orders are processed for any supplies removed from inventoryOther duties as assignedPhysical factors include:Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeingLifting up to 125 lbsWorking in storage freezerWorking outside in a variety of weather conditionsDriving in all seasonsBenefits include a comprehensive benefits package for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week which includes health, dental, and vision insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts for medical and dependent care, as well as life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage, and long-term disability insurance.
