HRI Hospital is seeking full time mental health advocates. HRI Hospital is a 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. As a mental health advocate, you will:

• Monitor patient safety on the inpatient psychiatric units
• Assist nursing staff with patient treatment procedures
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
• Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
• Assist with patient groups and activities

Qualifications requirements include:

• High school diploma and a minimum of 3 years of psychiatric experience OR bachelor's degree in human services field or current student pursuing a bachelor's degree and 1 year of psychiatric experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Physical fitness – must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be comfortable working with patients in acute psychiatric distress
