Join Our Team as a Hospitalist

Our organization is a physician-led multispecialty group comprising over 650 providers, and we are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Hospitalist to become part of our expanding team in Boise, Idaho . You will collaborate with 32 physicians and 12 advanced practice providers (APPs) to manage a high-acuity medical service at a 381-bed regional medical center.

Position Details
  • Schedule: Full-time, consisting of 152 night shifts per year.
  • Work Pattern: 7 on, 7 off from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • No Call: Enjoy a work-life balance with no on-call responsibilities.
  • Teaching Opportunities: Participate in the education of residents.

The typical patient demographic includes approximately 40% adults and 60% geriatric patients. Hospitalists will manage cases involving conditions such as CHF, pneumonia, COPD, pancreatitis, stroke, neurological disorders, geriatric fractures, and various other general medical issues. Daily rounding typically involves 14-18 patient encounters, with nocturnists handling 6-8 admissions each night.

As the primary provider of advanced, innovative, and interdisciplinary critical care services in the region, we seek candidates who are dedicated to a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team approach. Our facility is also the only ACS verified Level II Trauma Center in the area, and hospitalists serve as the primary admitting service for most primary care providers within our network.

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program; family medicine residency with hospitalist training will also be considered.
  • Board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), or the ability to obtain such certification within three years of employment.
  • Eligibility for Idaho medical licensure to practice in all aspects of medicine; valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho Boards of Pharmacy and DEA.
  • Approval for privileges at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC).
