A specialized infusion pharmacy serving a cancer center is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to cover a leave of absence. This role focuses on chemotherapy and oncology medications, requiring hands-on experience in this critical area of pharmacy practice.
Location:
- Thousand Oaks, CA
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- No nights or weekends
Duration:
- 13 weeks or longer, contract position
- Start date to be determined (potentially starting in January)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense chemotherapy and oncology medications with accuracy and attention to detail
- Collaborate closely with oncology healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective patient care
- Monitor patient therapy and provide clinical support related to chemotherapy treatments
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and standards specific to oncology infusion pharmacies
- Educate patients and caregivers on medication use and potential side effects
Qualifications:
- Active California Pharmacist license
- Proven experience in chemotherapy/oncology pharmacy practice
- Strong knowledge of infusion pharmacy operations and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness and flexibility to travel as required
