Service Manager

Quality Sewing and Vacuum

About Quality Sewing & Vacuum

At Quality Sewing & Vacuum, we don't just sell machines; we support a lifetime of creativity. As a family-owned business and a leader in the Pacific Northwest sewing and vacuum industry, we pride ourselves on providing world-class technical support and repair services. We are looking for a high-energy Service Manager to lead our technical team, ensure peak operational efficiency, and maintain the high standards of service our customers expect.

The Role

As the Service Manager, you are the bridge between technical excellence and exceptional customer service. You will oversee the daily operations of the repair department, managing a team of skilled technicians while ensuring that every sewing machine and serger leaves our shop in top-tier condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and schedule service technicians. Foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous learning and precision.
  • Workflow Management: Manage the "triage" process to prioritize urgent repairs and maintain an accurate lead-time calendar.
  • Quality Control: Perform spot checks on repairs to ensure they meet Quality Sewing & Vacuum's rigorous standards.
  • Customer Experience: Act as the technical point of contact for employees and customers. Explain complex repairs in "human" terms, provide accurate estimates, and resolve any service-related concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Technical Support: Assist technicians with difficult diagnostics and stay updated on the latest software and mechanical updates for modern sewing and embroidery technology.
  • Resource Allocation: Assign repair tickets based on technician skill levels
  • Training: Identify gaps in team knowledge and coordinate factory-certified training for new models and technologies.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Proven Leadership: 3+ years of experience in a service management or supervisory role (experience in appliance repair, electronics, or automotive service is a plus).
  • Technical Aptitude: While you don't need to be a master technician, a strong mechanical mind is essential. You should understand gears, timing, and electrical components.
  • Organizational Mastery: You can juggle multiple repair tickets, parts orders, and customer inquiries without breaking a sweat.
  • Communication Skills: The ability to translate "technical jargon" into clear value for the customer.
  • Passion for Excellence: A "right the first time" mentality and a keen eye for detail.
  • Digital Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office, with a preference for those adept at navigating Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, and Drive).
