Job Summary:
The Radiology/Cardiology CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT imaging and X-ray procedures primarily in an inpatient rehabilitation and LTACH/ICU setting. The role involves operating older GE and Siemens CT scanners, as well as Siemens, Fuji, GE X-ray and C-arm equipment. The CT Tech will provide diagnostic imaging services to support patient care, collaborate with clinical teams, and ensure quality imaging standards. Flexibility to float between facilities and respond to on-call shifts is required.
Responsibilities:
The Radiology/Cardiology CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT imaging and X-ray procedures primarily in an inpatient rehabilitation and LTACH/ICU setting. The role involves operating older GE and Siemens CT scanners, as well as Siemens, Fuji, GE X-ray and C-arm equipment. The CT Tech will provide diagnostic imaging services to support patient care, collaborate with clinical teams, and ensure quality imaging standards. Flexibility to float between facilities and respond to on-call shifts is required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform CT scans using GE 16 slice CT scanner and X-ray imaging with Siemens portable and GE C-arm equipment.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and ensure patient safety throughout the process.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and facility protocols.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to provide timely and accurate diagnostic imaging services.
- Document imaging procedures and maintain accurate patient records using Epic charting system.
- Float between Providence Alaska Medical Center and Saint Elias to assist with staffing as needed.
- Respond to 2-3 nights of on-call shifts per week and provide weekend coverage as required.
- Adhere to infection control and radiation safety standards.
- Current BLS certification.
- ARRT (R) certification.
- ARRT (CT) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating CT and X-ray equipment, preferably with GE and Siemens systems.
- Experience working with older GE and Siemens CT scanners and Siemens, Fuji, GE X-ray and C-arm equipment.
- Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system.
- On-call requirement: 2-3 nights per week.
- Clinician must be willing to float between facilities approximately 10 minutes apart.
- Time off requests are limited to one per 13-week assignment and approved individually.
- Traveler may be called off for one 10-hour shift per two-week period.
- Work setting includes a low volume inpatient rehab and LTACH/ICU environment.
- Primary schedule is four 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Weekend and on-call shifts required as part of the schedule.
- Block scheduling is accommodated.
