Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk manages all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensures accurate order processing, and maintains an organized inventory within a warehouse or distribution environment. This role supports daily logistics operations by coordinating shipments, maintaining documentation, and helping keep the warehouse running efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and ship outgoing orders accurately and on time, following established procedures and standards.
• Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and shipping documents.
• Maintain detailed shipping and receiving logs and documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping and traceability.
• Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods.
• Track shipments and proactively resolve any shipping or inventory issues that may arise.
• Support inventory control activities, including inventory counts and cycle counting, to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Assist with picking and staging orders for shipment to ensure correct items and quantities are prepared.
• Help maintain an organized warehouse by keeping shipping, receiving, and storage areas clean and orderly.

• Experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Hands-on experience with inventory management and inventory control processes.
• Ability to perform cycle counting and support regular inventory checks.
• Familiarity with order picking and staging for shipment.
• Basic understanding of logistics processes, including carrier coordination and shipment tracking.
• Ability to maintain accurate shipping and receiving logs and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order processing and record-keeping.

• Experience using SAP or similar inventory or warehouse management systems.
• Prior experience in a small warehouse or shop environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit, family-oriented team.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford Hills, NY.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
