Quality Engineer
Great People Making Lifesaving Products We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our highly skilled, dynamic team. Nortech Systems is a leading provider of engineering and manufacturing solutions for complex electromedical and electromechanical products. We proudly serve mission critical markets, including medical imaging, medical devices, industrial, and aerospace & defense. We are looking for a Quality Engineer who is passionate about quality, thrives in a collaborative manufacturing environment, and wants to make a direct impact on the products that improve lives around the world. The pay range for this role is $75,000 - $100,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and other candidate qualifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with manufacturing and engineering to ensure clear documentation, interpretation, and inclusion of customer requirements for assigned products.
- Support, plan, and implement activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, products, and/or business systems.
- Develop, implement, and support standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation relative to Nortech's quality management standards to ensure products leaving the manufacturing or development organization are effective and free from defects or operational problems or errors.
- Review product, component, part, and assembly specifications, and develop and/or update testing-related documentation including test cases, plans, and flaw-reporting procedures.
- Work with training staff to ensure production and inspection personnel are properly trained.
- Support quality related issues such as interpretation of workmanship standards, manufacturing processes, customer prints, specifications and defect evaluations.
- Devise sampling procedures, design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
- Develop and implement methods to ensure compliance of product development, documentation, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
- Maintain applicable quality records and perform quality audits in accordance with established standards.
- Compile, calculate, maintain, and report summary statistics required by customers.
- Inform product conformance decisions based on interpretation of quality data reports, SPC charts, and other applicable data; promptly notify management of concerns with potential to impact product volume, manufacturing lines, costs, or customer outcomes.
- Work with suppliers, customers, and internal departments on obtaining and/or responding to deficiencies and/or corrective actions.
- Coordinate the successful closure of closed loop corrective actions concerning quality issues of products and processes.
- Keep supervisor informed about project status, workload, concerns, questions, and progress.
- Demonstrate and support Nortech's Mission, Core Values, policies and procedures at all times.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a closely related field
- Minimum of one year of experience:
- Using engineering design (CAD) software
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Hands-on experience with:
- Quality assurance tools and methodologies, including product and component analysis, testing, documentation, and statistical analysis
- Reading and interpreting product schematics or engineering drawings
- Supporting or working within a manufacturing or production environment
- Partnering with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve product quality issues
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly through both written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or similar collaboration software

Qualifications
Education
Bachelors or better.
Experience
• Professional experience communicating technical ideas and concepts using written and oral presentation methods. • Experience using Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and/or similar software collaboration tools at a proficient level. Experience including:
- Working in a capacity requiring use of product quality assurance tools and methods including product and component analysis, testing, documentation, and statistical analysis.
- Reading and interpreting product or engineering schematics.
- Working in or closely with others in a line product manufacturing environment.
- Working with engineering and manufacturing partners to trouble shoot and problem solve product quality concerns.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or closely related subject area.
- One year of experience using engineering design (CAD) software, reading and drafting engineering specifications using technical terms and product design methodology.
• Three or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or quality-focused environment
