Prep Cook / Line Cook (Part-Time)

Position: Part-Time (30–35 Hours per Week)

Schedule

• Wednesday through Saturday
• Approximately 4:30 PM – 11:30 PM
• One additional prep hour at the beginning of each work week
• Occasional holidays and special events

Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour

Reports To: General Manager

The Golden Monkey Lounge is an upscale neighborhood cocktail lounge in downtown Glens Falls known for exceptional cocktails, elevated food, and outstanding hospitality.

We’re looking for a dependable, hardworking Prep Cook / Line Cook who takes pride in keeping an organized kitchen and producing consistently great food. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a clean, well-managed kitchen without the stress of an oversized menu or constantly changing recipes.

Our menu, recipes, and systems are already established. We simply need someone who is coachable, dependable, and committed to executing them with consistency and speed.

What You’ll Do

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Prepare ingredients for daily service
• Follow established recipes and preparation procedures
• Assemble and execute menu items quickly and accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen throughout every shift
• Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment during and after service
• Properly label, rotate, and store food products
• Monitor prep levels and communicate inventory needs
• Assist with occasional special events and private functions
• Help maintain a positive, professional kitchen environment

Kitchen experience is preferred, but extensive experience is not required. We’re happy to train someone with the right work ethic and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Basic knowledge of kitchen tools, knives, and commercial kitchen equipment
• Food Handler or ServSafe certification is preferred (not required)
• Ability to remain on your feet for most of each shift
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, and carry up to approximately 40 pounds
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
• Ability to work Wednesday through Saturday evenings and occasional special events
