Salary range (but not limited to):

74,800 - 91,400

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

15%

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

Our team

We are a leader in the investment management industry. Our growing team of 75 experts is focused on the future. Intact Gestion de placements has seven teams: fixed income, equities, private investments, asset allocation, compliance and governance, negotiation, and transactional support.

We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join our asset allocation team, responsible for the strategic and tactical allocation of capital between different asset classes (fixed income, equities, private investments, and alternative assets). The team aims to optimize risk-adjusted return while respecting the liquidity and capital requirements of our subsidiaries. A small but agile team with a significant impact on the entire portfolio.

What you will achieve with us:

• Contribute to the design, update and optimization of strategic and tactical investment allocation models, in close collaboration with portfolio managers
• Analyze and monitor expected returns, correlations and risks associated with different asset classes to inform allocation decisions.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the regulatory framework and capital requirements specific to each region where we operate (Canada, United States, and United Kingdom), and integrate these constraints into allocation recommendations
• Contribute to improving our relative performance compared to our peers, particularly through performance measurement and risk factor analysis
• Prepare and present economic analyses and investment decisions, sometimes intended for senior management, by synthesizing complex data in a clear and accessible manner.
• Automate and improve existing processes to increase team efficiency
• Collaborate with other investment teams to deepen your understanding of different asset classes, develop new products, and integrate this information into asset allocation

What you will bring:

• Master's degree in finance or a related field.
• 0 to 2 years of investment experience.
• Possess or are eager to obtain the CFA designation.
• In-depth knowledge of Excel.
• Programming skills are an asset: VBA and/or Python.
• Interest in financial markets and insurance.
• Desire to collaborate with colleagues and partners.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• No prior work experience in Canada required, but need to have authorization to work in Canada.
• Bilingualism (French/English) - Need to interact regularly with colleagues across the country.
