Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated CDL A Truck Driver for local work on an AM shift with weekly pay. This role offers the opportunity to operate tractor-trailers while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Drive route-specific deliveries using GPS navigation, managing logistics cargo handling for freight.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route status, delivery times, and any issues encountered during trips
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving on local routes with route driving responsibilities
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation equipment
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT safety standards
- Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently and safely
- Experience in logistics cargo handling, load & unload procedures, and truck loading/unloading techniques
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, hazard awareness, and defensive driving practices
