Job Description Summary The Medical Scribe supports physicians by documenting patient visits in real time and preparing charts ahead of clinic sessions. This role offers hands‑on exposure to clinical care, close collaboration with providers, and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast‑paced healthcare environment while training in medical terminology, developing strong medical documentation and communication skills, and exposure to medical decision making. Required Education High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience None required. Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Scribe preferred. Job Duties 30% Accompany the physician into the exam room, documenting in the EMR all aspects of patient care to include chief complaint, history of presenting illness, physical exam, physician orders and patient plan. 25% During non‑clinical time, pre‑chart for Gynecologic Oncology physicians for the following week’s patients scheduled in clinic, including summarization of outside medical records and testing. 20% Document physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the provider; document the results of diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies as dictated by the provider. 10% Facilitate communication and coordination between the physician and other staff members to complete patient care tasks such as tests, labs, imaging, and medical records. 10% Track various elements of the patient chart to notify the physician when all documentation requirements are complete. 5% Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Continuous: Work indoors; good finger dexterity; maintain tactile sensory functions; 20/40 vision corrected in one eye or both; good peripheral vision; hearing acuity with correction. Frequent: Perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking; fully use both hands and arms; repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders; perform gross motor functions with fine motor movements; reach in all directions; see and recognize objects close and at a distance; discriminate colors; determine distance and relationship between objects; hear and understand whispered conversations at 3 feet. Infrequent: Kneel and squat; perform pinching; lift and carry up to 15 lbs unassisted; lift objects up to 15 lbs from floor to 36 inches; push or pull objects up to 15 lbs unassisted.
