We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support attorneys in all stages of litigation at a professional law office in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

** Key Responsibilities **

• Provide administrative and litigation support to two attorneys.
• Prepare, format, proofread, and revise legal documents, pleadings, and simple motions.
• Manage case files, maintain accurate records, and organize legal documentation.
• Handle state and federal court e-filing and coordinate filings with court personnel.
• Maintain and manage calendars for case deadlines, case management orders, depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
• Manage scheduling, telephone coverage, correspondence, and other administrative duties.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of legal tasks and filings.
• Assist with legal billing, time entry, and document management as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and colleagues.

** Qualifications **

• 2–5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar litigation support role, preferably in a law firm.
• Experience preparing pleadings, simple motions, and other legal documents.
• Familiarity with state and federal court e-filing procedures.
• Experience using legal document management systems; iManage experience is preferred.
• Strong calendaring, file management, proofreading, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.
• High level of accuracy, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.

** Preferred Qualifications **

• Experience in tort litigation, personal injury defense, premises liability, or construction litigation.
• Familiarity with legal billing software and time entry systems.
• Experience coordinating court filings, communicating with court personnel, and managing litigation schedules.
