Weekly hours are 36 hours. Start time is 06:45 AM and end time is 07:15 PM. Work days are rotating based on an 8-week schedule. Call requirements include 10 shifts per 8-week schedule. The unit features 8 Cardiac Operating Rooms. There are 7 Cardiac Surgeons available. 9-16 cases are performed per operative day. There are over 2000 cardiac cases each year. Surgeries include open and robotic cardiac procedures. Heart failure and transplant surgeries are included. Each case typically involves 1 First Assistant, 1 Certified Surgical Technician, 1 Heart Holder RN, and 1 Circulator. Basic Life Support certification is required.
