Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to support the planning, design, analysis, and modification of structures and systems within nuclear power generation facilities. This role will be responsible for developing engineering calculations, construction drawings, specifications, design packages, and technical reports while supporting both plant modifications and new facility projects. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and field personnel to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Perform civil and structural design and analysis for nuclear power plant modifications, upgrades, and new facility projects.

Develop structural calculations and designs for equipment foundations, equipment anchorage, pipe supports, steel structures, concrete structures, and related infrastructure.

Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, design drawings, technical reports, and construction documents.

Develop and support design modification packages in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.

Perform site walkdowns, field investigations, constructability reviews, and installation support activities.

Evaluate existing structures and develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions for plant upgrades and modifications.

Perform structural analyses for static, dynamic, and seismic loading conditions.

Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, piping, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project execution.

Interface with clients, utilities, contractors, and project stakeholders to support project planning and delivery.

Ensure engineering work complies with applicable industry codes, standards, regulations, and quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.

7+ years of civil/structural engineering design experience, preferably supporting nuclear power generation facilities.

Strong understanding of structural steel and reinforced concrete design principles.

Experience developing and reviewing structural calculations, specifications, and design deliverables.

Knowledge of applicable building codes, industry standards, and seismic design requirements.

Strong communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Experience supporting nuclear plant modifications, equipment installations, and structural evaluations.

Familiarity with seismic analysis, pipe support design, equipment anchorage, and foundation design.

Experience working within regulated nuclear or power generation environments.
